How we handle skilled lead work
Lead is where roofing becomes a trade. Chimney flashings, valleys, abutments and bay tops all depend on lead being cut, welded and dressed correctly, and it is the first place a cheap job fails.
Our lead work is done by hand in the traditional way, with the correct codes of lead for each detail, properly stepped and chased into the stonework so it stays watertight for the long term.
Lead is often the fix when a roof that looks fine keeps letting water in around a chimney or a wall. If the chimney is no longer used, removing it can be the better answer. We survey for free, show you what we have found with photos from the roof, and price the work in a written, itemised quote before we start.

Can you replace stolen or damaged lead?
Yes. We replace missing lead and can advise on deterrents and discreet fixing methods.
Do you repair old lead or replace it?
Where lead can be redressed and reused we will say so. Where it has split or fatigued, replacement is the only honest fix.
Is lead work included in a re-roof quote?
Yes. Flashings, valleys and chimney details are part of every full replacement quote, not an extra that appears later.
How do I know if my lead has failed?
Damp patches near chimneys, in valleys or at walls are the usual signs. We will trace it for free and show you photos of what we find.
