How we handle chimney removals
An unused chimney is maintenance you do not need: pointing, flaunching, flashings and pots that all fail over time and let water in. If your chimney no longer serves a fire or boiler, removing it below the roofline solves the problem permanently.
We take the stack down safely, support the remaining structure correctly, then tile or slate over the opening to match the rest of the roof, leaving no trace of the chimney and nothing left to leak.
We start with a free survey to confirm the stack is redundant and check what it is tied into. Scaffolding, waste removal and the work itself are all set out in a written, itemised quote, and the roof is left weathertight and matching once the stack is gone.

Common questions
Straight answers to what we are asked most about chimney removals. If your question is not here, phone 01236 338906 and ask.
01236 338906Do I need permission to remove a chimney?
Shared stacks and some properties need agreement or consent first. We will talk this through at your free survey before any work is priced.
Will you match the existing roof tiles?
Yes. We match the covering as closely as possible so the repair blends in with the rest of the roof.
Can you repair a chimney instead?
Of course. If the stack is staying we can re-point, re-flaunch and re-flash it to sort any leaks.
How long does a chimney removal take?
Most removals below the roofline are completed within a few days, including making the roof good. We confirm the timeline with your quote.
Will removing the chimney affect my neighbours?
On shared stacks it can, which is why we check ownership and agreement at the free survey before pricing any work.
